BACKGROUND

Introduction

Gode Health Science College was established in the year of 2002EC as the second governmental Health Science College operating in the region with the primary aim of providing training to midlevel Health Professionals who will solve the Health Problems of the region and thus contributing the efforts of the government in combating the poverty where by producing effective and efficient midlevel health professional in quantity and quality that will stand shoulder by shoulder to the regional governments' efforts in meeting the MDGs and maintaining the post MDGs.

Thus, initially, the college was under the administration of the Somali Regional State Health Bureau, however, later on and along with the developmental policy of the country, it was the Regional TVET Bureau that transferred the administration of the college. Currently the college is operating 12 years of starting from 2002EC when its first services were officially launched.

Objective of GHSC

To train various categories of Mid-level health professionals who will be able to accomplish the objectives of the National health policy within the framework of Health Sector Development Program.
